Srinagar, Sep 12: Around 34 kanals of land will be made available for the rehabilitation of traders affected due to shifting of the Batamaloo Bus Terminal (BBT) in civil lines to Parimpora in city outskirts.
An official spokesperson here this evening said that a total of 71 kanals of land has been earmarked for New Parimpora Bus Stand and 34 kanals of land is available for the affected traders.
He said Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today visited new Parimpora Bus terminal to review rehabilitation plan for traders affected due to shifting of the stand from Batamaloo Bus Stand.
The Divisional Commissioner directed Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department to demarcate 25 kanals of land for rehabilitation purposes and prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) regarding the same within a week so that the draft of the comprehensive rehabilitation plan is prepared immediately for the benefit of affected traders.
He said under this comprehensive rehabilitation plan, all affected shopkeepers and other persons whose trading activities might have suffered will be properly rehabilitated at the New Parimpora Bus Stand area soon. UNI
