Srinagar, Sep 28: Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have arrested a man and recovered fake currency in Srinagar.
  A police spokesman said here this evening that Police Station Shaheed Gunj received an information that a man  was possessing fake currency and is trying to spend in Jahangir Chowk area.
        On this information, a police team headed by Station House Officer (SHO) Shaheed Gunj  Manzoor Ahmad Beigh reached the spot and apprehended the accused. 
        He was later identified as Gulzar Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah resident of Tral Payeen. 
      He said fake currency of rupees 29,000 was recovered from his possession.
A case FIR number 75/2017 under section 489 C, 420 RPC was registered and investigation has been taken up. This is the first recovery of fake currency in Srinagar after note ban in the country last year. UNI
