Accused Tripura SDM sent to compulsory waiting

Agartala, Sep 14: Taking a serious view of the molestation attempt, the left front government in Tripura has put accused Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kailashahar, Subrata Choudhury under compulsory waiting. Choudhury was accused of outraging the modesty of his junior colleague, a Tripura Civil Service (TCS) officer last week in her quarter in an odd morning hour. The district magistrate and collector of Unokoti in North Tripura has began probe into the allegation. The personnel and training department of Tripura government officials said Choudhury was yesterday relinquished all the charges as the SDM and left for the capital town amidst uncertainty and disgrace. Subhas Chandra Saha, SDM Longthorai Valley subdivision was posted as the new SDM of Kailashahar. Jayanta Debbarma, joint labour commissioner has been posted as the SDM of Longtarai Valley subdivision with immediate effect. The government has already constituted a panel to undertake inquiry into molestation charge against Subrata Choudhury, the former SDM of Kailashahar. UNI
