Lucknow,
Sept 14: Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister
Akhilesh Yadav today said it would have been better if Prime Minister Narendra
Modi launched the first bullet train between Delhi and Kolkata passing through
UP and Bihar. "Most of the population reside in UP and Bihar and if a
bullet train passes through this region it would have been developed more. The
Prime Minister too had claimed today on the foundation stone laying function on
development on the bullet train project leading to giving jobs to the
youths," he told reporters here. Mr Yadav said they were not opposed to
the bullet train project but demanded that it should also be started in the
Delhi- Kolkata sector connecting, Lucknow, Varanasi and Bihar. Mr Yadav, however,
did not spare the Prime Minister for launching the bullet train project in his
native state of Gujarat." These BJP people had attacked me for launching
most of the projects from Saifai, by native place during the SP regime but Mr
Modi too also went to Gujarat to launch the bullet train project. So now what
will BJP leaders say on this?" he asked. Reacting on the photos of Mr Modi
and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe on the bank of Sabarmati river
yesterday, Mr Yadav claimed, "Gomti riverfront is more beautiful that
Sabarmati and these two dignitaries should have clicked there more
photos," he said. UNI
