New
Delhi, Sept 19: Tamil Nadu Governor C Vidyasagar Rao today met Union Home
Minister Rajnath Singh and reportedly discussed ongoing political crisis in the
state. Mr Rao also held meeting with Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Mr
Rao yesterday called on President Ram Nath Kovind and is understood to have
discussed the political situation in the state, which has been plagued by the
internal strife in the ruling AIADMK.Governor Rao rushed to Delhi close on the
heels of the Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal disqualifying 18 legislators owing
allegiance to party leader TTV Dhinakaran. The Opposition in Tamil Nadu has
described the disqualification of the MLAs as 'murder of democracy'. Speaker's
decision to disqualify the 18 MLAs of the Dinakaran camp has certainly given an
edge to the ruling AIADMK in the state assembly. UNI
