Kolkata, Sep 6: With Durga Puja celebrations just round the corner, the State Transport Department is gearing up to make the occasion a pleasant one for all concerned. It is making plans to make it viable for people to avail bus services all without any hassle during the Puja days. During the four days, 1,100 buses would be operating in the city from 0600 to 0000 hours in midnight, a transport official today said, The department has also made plans for special ferry services for people to view the immersion ceremony of different Puja organisers. Two ferries have been added to the fleet run by the Water Transport Directorate, which would be made available for people to board to see the immersion of the goddess Durga. UNI
