New
Delhi, Sept 25: The BJP National Executive today lauded Prime Minister
Narendra Modi and his leadership for leading India into a new era of diplomatic
endeavours both in terms of enhancing nation's image overseas and also in
helping improve relations in the neighbourhood. Briefing reporters, Union
Minister Nitin Gadkari referred to recent standoff with China in Doklam sector
and said Prime Minister Modi showed his political acumen and diplomatic skills
by ensuring that the tension between the two neighbours is resolved. In the political
resolution adopted at National Executive meet, the party leaders reiterated the
pledge to herald a corruption-free India. "Prime Minister has given the
country a dream about 'New India'.....and everyone is committed to work towards
that goal," Mr Gadkari said, adding the resolution was adopted
unanimously. The resolution among other things lauded the party government and
Prime Minister for its stand on Triple Talaq issue and that would ensure
enhanced dignity for Muslim women. Earlier in his presidential address, BJP
chief Amit Shah lauded the government's welfare schemes. During the
deliberations, Mr Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley received standing
ovation from delegates for government's decision on GST rollout and the
demonetisation. As the National Executive in the capital coincides with birth
centenary of RSS and BJP ideologue Deendayal Upadhayay, senior leaders said,
the focus of deliberations at the meet has been to urge the party workers and
leaders to work for the common man - a much cherished commitment of Deendayal
Upadhyay himself. UNI
