CBI denies tapping phone of Union Minister

New Delhi, Sep 2: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today denied tapping phone of a Union Minister. A statement issued by the agency said, 'With reference to a story regarding phone tapping of a Union Minister by CBI appearing on a certain Television channel, it is stated that the story is completely false and malicious." 'The work of the agency is clearly defined and its mandate is to professionally investigate the cases undertaken by it. The agency reiterates that no such incidence of tapping as alleged by the news story has taken place,' it added. UNI
