Srinagar, Sep 27: Curfew like restrictions have been imposed in apple township of Sopore, about 55 km from here in north Kashmir district of Baramulla as a precautionary measure. Officials said that restrictions under Section 144 CrPC have been imposed in the Sopore town to maintain law and order. All roads, leading to town, have been closed with barbed wire to prevent any traffic or pedestrian movement since early this morning as there was apprehension of trouble following the killing of self styled top commander Abdul Qayoum Najar, a resident of Sopore when he infiltrated into this side in Boniyar area of Uri yesterday. Najar, most wanted was buried at village Mumkak Batopora, Sopore late last night. Additional security forces and state police personnel had been deployed in the town to prevent any law and order problem. People alleged that they were not being allowed to move out of their houses by the security forces. Security forces had also closed tehsil road, court road, Chanakhan and other areas in the town. However, situation elsewhere in the north Kashmir was normal. UNI
