Delhi, Sept 28: Abducted Christian priest Father Tom Uzhunnalil, who was
released from ISIS captivity earlier this month, today returned to the national
capital and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Priest, abducted on March 4,
2016 reportedly in an incident of terrorist attack in Aden by ISIS, was
received by Minister of State for Tourism K J Alphons. After the required rest
and recuperation period in Vatican City, Father Tom returned home this morning,
the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement. The Priest, who hails
from Kerala also met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. The union minister
Mr Alphons also accompanied the priest during his meeting with the Prime
Minister. Since his abduction, the government of India had been making all
possible efforts to secure the safe release of the priest. UNI
