HSPDP declared second list of candidates for Meghalaya polls

Shillong, Sep 6: Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) has released its second list of candidates for next year's Assembly election in Meghalaya. In the second list, the opposition HSPDP has declared the names of Blatsbor Kharpran, Droistar Khongsti and Renikton L Tongkhar who will be contesting from Sohryngkham, Mawkyrwat and Sohra respectively. A few weeks ago, the HSPDP had released its first list of candidates in which it named the sitting legislators of the party — Phlastingwell Pangniang from Rambrai-Jyrngam, Witting Mawsor from Mawshynrut and Diosstarness Jyndiang from Nongstoin. Two sitting MDCs of the party too featured in the first list — Teilinia Thangkhiew (Mylliem) and Samlin Malngiang (Sohiong). Two prominent names on HSPDP list of candidates for 2018 are Pynshai Manik Syiem from Mawphlang and Martle M Mukhim from Mawkynrew. The party has named three political greenhorns – social worker Biolinda L Nonglait from Mawthadraishan constituency, law graduate Defender Pakem from Sutnga-Saipung and noted lawyer Alester Neville Diengdoh from North Shillong.
