New York,
Sept 22: In a strong response to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan
Abbasi’s address at the UN General Assembly session, India today described the
neighbouring country as ‘’Terroristan’’ with a flourishing industry producing
and exporting global terrorism. 'It is extraordinary that the state which
protected Osama Bin Laden and sheltered Mullah Omar should have the gumption to
play the victim,’’ First Secretary in the Permanent Mission of India to the United
Nations, Enam Gambhir said. The remarks came after the speech of Mr Abbasi who
had accused India of engaging in terrorist activities and warned of a “matching
response” if it crosses the Line of Control (LoC). He had also said that a
special UN envoy to Kashmir should be appointed to help resolve the “dispute”
in the state. Ms Gambhir sought to underline to Pakistan that Jammu and Kashmir
was an integral part of India and none of its efforts or tactics were going to
change that situation. She said that by now all Pakistan’s neighbours were
painfully familiar with these tactics to create a narrative based on
distortion, deception, and deceit. ‘’This august Assembly and the world beyond
know that efforts at creating alternative facts do not change reality, ’’ she
added. UNI
