Urges officials to make cooperative societies vibrant
SRINAGAR, SEPTERMBER 06: The Minister for Cooperative and Ladakh Affairs, Chering Dorjey today
convened a high level meeting with the officials of cooperative department
where various issues of the department were discussed threadbare.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Cooperative, Mir
Zahoor, Secretary Cooperative Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Registrar Cooperative,
Peerzada Hafizullah and other concerned officials.
During the meeting detailed discussions were held for the renovation
and face uplift of the Srinagar Cooperative super bazaar so that more consumers
are attracted to the super bazaar where they can avail the discount benefits on
various products ranging from 5% to 20%.
While taking stock of Cooperative assets available at various places,
the Minister directed the officials to ensure that there should be no
encroachment on those assets which, he said, are the backbone of the
department.
The Minister further directed them to make defunct societies functional
and the functional societies more convenient.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held upon the various
benefits and issues regarding the service conditions of the institutional
employees. The Minister directed the concerned officials to take up the matter
and solve their issues at an earliest.
Dorjey further directed the officials to conduct cooperative societies’ elections
in the pending districts of the State in a stipulated time frame.
During the meeting Mir Zahoor stressed upon the officials to work with
zeal and dedication to bring back the lost glory of the department and to
uplift it.
