Revamping of Revenue Deptt
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 25: Minister
for Revenue, Relief Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Abdul Rehman Veeri today
called for revamping the Revenue department and constructing Patwar Khana in
every Halqa of state.
The Minister asked the officials to pass on directions to every Tehsil
Headquarter for identification of 5 marlas of land for construction of Patwar
Khana in every Patwar Halqas.
He was speaking at a high level meeting of Revenue Officers. The
meeting was attended by Financial Commissioner Revenue Lokesh Jha, Divisional
Commissioner Jammu Dr Mandeep K Bhandari , Divisional Commissioner Kashmir
Baseer Ahmed Khan, Commissioner Secretary Revenue Muhammad Ashraf Mir, Law
Secretary Abdul Majeed Bhat, , and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Syed Abid

The Minister took exception of the reports of non-availability of the
Patwaris at their Halqas. Veeri said that it is important to construct and
designate revenue office in every Patwar Halqa. The
Minister stressed on the officers to ensure availability of Patwaris for speedy
redressal of revenue matters.
The Minister said that rationalization of Patwar Halqas will go a long
way in easing out the process of seeking revenue extracts from Patwaris. He also
said that government is contemplating many steps to make the revenue department
people friendly and accountable.
The Minister also asked the officials to submit a report on the
rationalization of Patwar Halqas in proportionate to the Patwaris in every
Tehsil.
