SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 15: A meeting
of the Committee on Ethics of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held
here today under the Chairmanship of MLA, Abdul Rahim Rather to discuss the
role of the ethics committee to address the various issues of the Legislators
in and outside the House.
Legislators, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Abdul Majid Larmi, Syed Mohammad
Baqir Rizvi, Choudhary Mohammad Akram, Raja Manzoor Ahmed and Neelam Kumar
Langeh attended the meeting and gave their suggestions to make the committee
more workable and vibrant.
Threadbare discussions were held on the functioning and procedure of
the Committee and the Chairman of the Committee stressed on following the
ethical and moral values by the legislators in and outside the house.
The Committee asked the concerned authorities of different departments
that the local representations should not be neglected while conducting any
function arranged by Government in their constituencies.
It was decided in the meeting that the Committee will conduct the tours
in different districts of the state and held the meetings with the district
administrations to aware and teach them how to attend the affairs of the
legislators during the visits and functions. It was also decided that the
Committee will conduct its first tour to Leh/Kargil (Ladakh).
The Chairman of the Committee to sought views and suggestions from the
members of the Committee so that the decisions taken in forthcoming meeting of
the committee could be incorporate in its report.
Secretary Legislative Assembly, M R Singh also briefed the Committee
about functioning of the Committee, besides Additional Secretary LA, Naseem
Jan, senior officers and official of Assembly Secretariat were also present in
the meeting.
