Directs officials to involve local legislators for upgradation of
schools
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 27: Minister
for Education, Syed Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday chaired a high level
meeting to review the functioning of school and higher education department of
Khansahib Constituency, Budgam and Sangrama Constituency, Baramulla.
Various decisions were taken in the meeting for the improvement of the
quality of education in both the constituencies. Minister for Horticulture,
Syed Basharat Bukhari and MLA Khansahib, Hakim Mohammad Yasin attended the
meeting. The meeting discussed in detail the challenges faced by the department
and measures and reforms brought into to address these issues.
CEO Budgam on the occasion gave a detailed overview of the functioning
of the Middle, High and Higher Secondary Schools in the area. The Minister sought
detailed feedback on the functioning of centrally-sponsored schemes SSA and
RMSA, strength of schools, infrastructure, repair and renovation of schools
destroyed in various natural calamities in both the constituencies.
Bukhari directed the officials that the repair and renovation should be
completed within a stipulated time frame. He instructed the officials for
filling up of various vacancies in education department.
The Minister also took a note of district and state funds in both the
constituencies utilised for the upgradation of schools and directed the
officials to involve the local legislators for the up-gradation and
modernization of schools.
Secretary Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Director School Education,
G.N.Yatoo, Director SSA, Director RMSA, Director Colleges, Joint Director
Planning Education and various officials from education department were present
in the meeting.
