SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 27: Government polytechnic for Women
Bemina on Wednesday organized a cleanliness drive in connection with
the ongoing ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ campaign.
The cleanliness drive was kick started by Director
Technical Education, Shabnam Shah Kamli in college premises. The drive
gave an opportunity to the students to join hands with the administration in
creating awareness about the importance of hygiene and sanitation.
During the cleanliness drive, Director was
accompanied by Principle Government Polytechnic College Bemina, Shafuqat Ara,
Joint Director Technical Mohammad Shafi, Principle Kashmir Government
Polytechnic College Gogji Bagh, Altaf Mohammad Shala besides other faculty
members and students also participated in the cleanliness mission.
On the occasion, the Director Technical Education
Shabnam Shah Kabli appealed the students to ensure cleanliness of their
surroundings and not litter at the public places and in the water bodies. She
asked the students to avoid using polythene as it is the major cause of
pollution and often becomes a reason of choking of Nallahs and drains.
The Director said that the aim of visiting the
college is to carry forward the nationwide sanitation campaign which started on
September 15 to every village of the district. She said that the message
of importance of cleanliness should be conveyed to everyone. She stressed upon
the students to take active part in the cleanliness campaign and make it the
routine and take responsibility of keeping the environment neat and
clean.
