BARAMULLA, SEPTEMBER 13: The
District Development Commissioner Baramulla Nasir Ahmed Naqash today chaired a
meeting at Dak Bungalow Baramulla to review the functioning of health sector in
the district.
Meeting was attended by Joint Director planning, Chief Medical Officer,
Assistant Commissioner Development, Medical Superintendent DH Baramulla, BMOs,
Medical Officers and various other field functionaries of the department.
On the occasion, the CMO informed the DDC about the progress cum
performance of Health department through the power point presentation. He said
that about 10 lakh patients have been treated from the last 3 years in various
health institutions of the district.
He said that health care facilities have been improved to a large extent
by virtue of which the infant and maternal mortality rate has reduced
drastically. The CMO said that only 36 maternal deaths have been reported in
the year 2017 as compared to 150 in 2015 and 128 in 2016 besides a considerable
reduction in infant mortality rate.
The DDC also reviewed the implementation of various centrally as well
as state sponsored health related schemes wherein he was informed that under
Pradhan Mantri Sureksha Matri Abihyan (PMSMA), the pregnant women are being
checked up on every 9th of the month during the 2nd and 3rd trimester.
The CMO also briefed the DDC that under PC&PNDT Act about 37 USG clinics
have been registered and under RBSK the department had formulated 20
medical teams who visited about 1033 schools to conduct the medical examine of
the students.
Meanwhile the DDC also reviewed the physical and financial achievements
of various undertaken projects and emphasized upon the concerned to work with
zeal and enthusiasm so that all the project are completed in time bound manner.
