SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 15: Minister
of State for Forest, Environment, Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and
Cooperative, Mir Zahoor Ahmad today asked the Fisheries Department to prepare
Detailed Project Report (DPR) for construction of ornamental fencing for
Fisheries Hut at Yusmarg and submit the same to the Yusmarg Development
Authority immediately for accord of their necessary approval.
The Minister directed the concerned for face lifting of Hut and massive
plantation in the area including the premises of the Hut. The
instructions were given in a meeting convened to review the pace of progress of
developmental works under execution in Fisheries and Forest Departments in
Yousmarg area besides Action Taken Reports (ATRs) of the orders given by the
Minister during his recent tour to district Budgam.
Director Fisheries while briefing the meeting about the activities of
the Fisheries Department in District Budgam said that there is a scope of
promotion of pisciculture in the district.
Taking stock of the activities carried by the Forest Department in the
district Budgam, it was given out in the meeting that an amount of Rs 71.66
lakhs are required for different works including repairs and renovation for
Inspection Hut Block Office Chrari-e- Sharief, Guard Hut, Sheikhul-Alam Nursery
and Check Post at Kanidajan, Hut at Yusmarg, Batwooder Surasyar, Padshahtar and
Hut at Yusmarg SC Range.
Mir Zahoor asked the concerned to come up with a proposal so that the
required funds are arranged accordingly for these works well in time.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister asked the concerned to work with
utmost dedication and synergy and ensure to save the forest land and green gold
from the smugglers. He also asked them to ensure that no forest land should be
encroached and also instructed them to acquire the land which stands already
encroached.
The Minister also directed the Fisheries Department to aware the farming
community about the schemes of fisheries Department.
Among others, Director Fisheries, R. N. Pandita, Joint Director
Fisheries, Mohammad Amin Mir, Chief Executive Officer, YDA Gulzar Ahmad and
other Senior Officers of Forest and Fisheries Departments were present in the
meeting.
