| Lays foundation stone of Indoor Stadium |
DODA SEPTEMBER 08: MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar along
with District Development Commissioner Bhupinder Kumar declared open the
divisional level inter district tournament of Jammu division Kho-Kho for boys
of all age groups here today.
The function started with Oath taking ceremony and march-past of all
the participating districts of Jammu division at the Sports Stadium. AIER and
Kidz Kingdom schools also presented a colourful programme at the opening
ceremony.
Earlier the MLA laid foundation stone of the Indoor sports stadium complex to be
constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.82 crore.
Speaking
on the occasion, Parihar congratulated the participating teams. He stressed
upon the players to imbibe sportsmanship and team spirit in them.
Around
240 boys of hailing from districts of Jammu province are taking part in the tournament which is being organised under the patronage of Sheikh Fayaz
Ahmed, Director Youth Services and Sports and Ashok Kumar Kotwal District Youth
Services and Sports Officer Doda.
The
objective of the tournament is to select a best team for the inter division
tournament.
Others
present on the occasion were ACD Akhter Qazi, DEPO Ayaz Mughal, Principal HSS
Doda Tanveer Wani, Lecturers, ZEPOs, masters
and teachers.
