JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 01: Speaker,
Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta reviewed the
functioning of Jammu Municipal Corporation in a meeting held here today.
The Speaker assessed the progress of various ongoing development works
being executed by JMC in Gandhi Nagar constituency and directed the officials
to closely monitor all ongoing works for their completion in stipulated time
frame accruing the benefits to the public at the earliest.
He directed the officers of JMC to strictly adhering to the quality
norms and to ensure proper utilization of resources for optimum outcome.
Speaker also directed the concerned officials to submit a ward wise progress report
to his office and asked them to prepare area specific project proposals for
ensuring development of potential areas.
The meeting was informed about the beautification works including
installation of streetlights and construction of entrance
gate to be undertaken for developing Apsara Road Market as a Heritage Bazaar.
Kavinder also took detailed review of progress work of park at Jeevan
Nagar. Pertinently, the park is being constructed with an estimated cost of 5
crore.
The Speaker exhorted upon the officials to put in strenuous efforts to
reach out to the people to ensure prompt service delivery and to take all the
requisite measures for redressal of their grievances.
Speaker
directed the Jammu Municipal Corporation to repair defunct street lights and
clear the choked drains to avoid any inconvenience to the public.
Various issues including upgradation of transformer, installation of
more dust bins, water supply to toilet complex, parking issue were also
discussed in the meeting.
XENs,AEEs,JEEs besides various functionaries of JMC attended the
meeting.
