Onam celebrated with gaiety, enthusiasm in pondy

Puducherry, Sep 4: Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, was celebrated with traditional gaiety and enthusiasm by the Malayalies in the Union Territory, today. Clad in new dress, people visited temples to worship the deities in the early hours. Flower carpets were arranged in their houses and “Ona Sadya”(Onam Feast) organized to mark the occasion. People also exchanged pleasantries. Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, his Cabinet Colleagues, Lok Sabha Member R Radhakrishnan and leaders of different political parties greeted the people on the occasion. UNI
