Xiamen (China), Sept 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met Russian President Vladimir Putin on the Sidelines of BRICS Summit here. PM Modi is in Xiamen to attend the Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa (BRICS) Summit 2017. According to a report in "The Quint" today, the ninth BRICS Summit, themed 'Stronger Partnership for a Brighter Future’, will conclude on 5 September. This is the first BRICS gathering after New Delhi and Beijing decided on an "expeditious disengagement" of their border troops in the disputed Doklam area on 28 August. After China, PM Modi will leave for a three-day visit to Myanmar. UNI
