Sept 30: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray, known for his
controversial statements, on Saturday said he would oppose Mumbai's Bullet
Train and would not allow to start its construction here. Against the backdrop
of yesterday's stampede at a bridge connecting Elphinstone-Parel in which 22
people were killed, Mr Thackeray took on the BJP government at the Centre and
state saying that the BJP came to power by giving false promise. He alleged
that Mr Prabhu was shifted from Railways and Piyush Goyal was brought into
facilitate Bullet Train. Mr Thackeray said he himself would lead a morcha,
highlighting the issues with railway administration on October 5. He also said,
MNS would make all the bridges free from hawkers, which have occupied most of
