KARGIL, OCTOBER 09:
Advisor to Chief Minister, Prof. Amitabh Mattoo today had a review meeting with
Deputy Commissioner Kargil Haji Gulzar Hussain to take stock of education
scenario in the district.
The Advisor who is
on five-day visit to the region said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti led
Government is committed for the upgradation of education sector in all the
three regions of the State and in this regard various steps are being taken
under “Knowledge Initiative.”
He stressed upon
officers to work with utmost dedication for the upliftment of the education
section in the district so that positive changes are visible on ground.
During his tour,
the Advisor would meet the concerned of Hill Councils of Kargil and Leh. Besides,
to exchange the ideas about the initiative the Advisor would also have detailed
meetings with the officers from the Department of Education, members of Civil
Society and people from various walks of life.
Meanwhile, various
deputations called on Professor Mattoo at Drass to apprise him with various
issues faced by them. He assured them that he would take up the issue with CM
as well as with the concerned officers.
Later on, Professor
Mattoo also visited the Kargil War memorial to pay homage to 1999 and other
wars martyrs.
He was accompanied by officials and experts from Australian India
Institute Delhi branch.
