Says Govt
committed for better healthcare facilities
BARAMULLA,
OCTOBER 6: Minister of State for Health, Housing and Urban Development, Asiea
Naqash today chaired a meeting at Dak Bungalow Baramulla to review the
functioning of Health And Social Welfare Departments.
The meeting
was attended by MLA Baramulla Javaid Hassan Beigh, District Development
Commissioner, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash, MD Housing, Dr Manmohan
Singh Joint Director planning A G Malik, Chief Medical Officer Dr
Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo, Medical Superintendent DH Baramulla Syed Masood,
Engineers of line departments, , officers of Social welfare department, BMOs,
and various other field functionaries of the departments.
On the
occasion, the CMO informed the Minister about the progress cum performance of
Health department through the power point presentation. He said that the
district comprising 10 Medical blocks, have achieved a greater slot in
providing better healthcare facilities to the people. He also briefed the
Minister about the status of the completion of Trauma Hospital at Pattan and
said that the much needed hospital is almost on the verge of completion.
While
emphasizing upon the concerned for completing all the undertaken projects, the
Minister stressed for working with more synergy and cooperation so that better
healthcare facilities are ensured and other health related public services are
delivered in an efficient manner.
She reiterated
the government’s commitment of providing better healthcare facilities to the
people and said that all the vacancies in the department will be filled on fast
track basis so that people may not suffer due to manpower scarcity.
Asiea Naqash
also took a comprehensive review of the availability of medicines in hospitals,
progress on the construction of Baramulla medical college, up gradation of
basic infrastructure in health institutions besides other related matters of
health sector.
Moreover, the
Minister also reviewed the functioning of social welfare department wherein she
was informed that the district comprising 06 Tehsil centers, have distributed
about Rs 80 lakh to the economic assistance to the downtrodden and
destitute under various centrally sponsored schemes including National
Financial assistance scheme(NFAS), ISSS, NFBS, State Marriage Assistance
Scheme and other welfare schemes.
She was briefed about the status of various other
schemes including AASRA and HUNNAR during which the Minister emphasized upon
awareness dissemination among masses about the viability of these welfare
schemes. The Minister exhorted upon the concerned to ensure transparency in the
allocation mechanism so that deserving section of the society is not neglected.
