KATHUA, OCTOBER 06: A team of
Law Enforcement, Department of Agriculture today inspected various distribution
centres of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides across the District.
The team headed by Assistant. Director Law enforcement, S Baljeet Singh
along with Law Enforcement Inspector Kathua Manohar Lal and other officers and
officials lifted samples from the dealers for quality check with a view to
provide quality inputs to the farmers at reasonable prices and to create a
sense of quality consciousness among the dealers. During the inspection,
Baljeet Singh directed all the dealers to display a valid license, maintain
stock and sale registers, display fertilizer sale rates as required under Seeds
Act 1966, Insecticide Act 1968 and Fertilizer Control Order 1985. He also
directed them to maintain proper record and sale of quality inputs.
He
stressed upon the Fertilizer dealers for issuance of bills, as per POS devices
provided to them by Govt. of India Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizsers, to
the farmers. He warned them that any deviation of norms will be viewed
seriously and action as warranted under rules shall be initiated against the
defaulters.
