Oct 7: As part of her fight against dengue fever in the union territory,
Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi on Saturday undertook a five km walkathon to
create awareness on disease among the people. Dengue cases are increasing in
the Union Territory day by day forcing Chief Minister V Narayanasamy and Lt
Governor Bedi to jump into the field and conduct surveys. The Lt Governor
visited the constituencies of the Chief Minister and Speaker. The walkathon,
which commenced from the Raj Nivas, passed through the beach road,
Kurusukuppam, Solai Nagar, Ginjee Saalai and culminated at the same place.
Government officials and students carrying placards partook in the walkathon to
create awareness on dengue. UNI
