Kathmandu,
Oct 28: A bus coming to Kathmandu from Rajbiraj plunged into Trishuli
River at Ghatbesi Bangemod in Dhading district on Saturday morning drowning at
least 14 passengers and injuring as many. The media reports said here that the
rescue team has recovered 14 bodies from the river, out of which seven are
male, five female and two infants. Their identities are yet to be ascertained.
It is learnt 15 passengers managed to save themselves by swimming to the river
bank. They are all injured, The Kathmandu Post reported. The exact number of
passengers on board the bus is not known, therefore, rescuers have no idea how
many bodies might be in the river. Police believes there are several passengers
trapped inside the bus. Police has begun the rescue operation. There are slim
chances of anybody surviving as the bus is still inside the river. UNI
