Takes stock of pace of work on Recreation Park under execution
ANANTNAG, OCTOBER 24: The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik
and the Director Floriculture, Mohammad Hussain Mir today visited Halmulla to
take stock of the work being executed for the development of Recreation Park
being developed by Floriculture Department.
The foundation stone of the park was recently laid by the Minister for
Revenue, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Mr. Abdul Rehman Veeri.
The park is being developed between Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and
Jehlum River on 8 kanals of land at an estimated of Rs 4.5 crores. This Jehlum
view park shall be developed on modern lines housing a book store, art gallery,
kiosks and children play equipments.
The tourist park is being developed with the purpose to uplift the
socio-economic status of the locals as Halmulla is the hub of bat manufacturing
industry in the State.
The DDC and Director Floriculture directed the officers to ensure the
quality work so that the park shall serve as a destination not only for
tourists but also for the locals.
On the occasion, SDM Bijbehara, Ex. Engineer Floriculture, Ex. Engineer
I&FC, District Floriculture Officer and Tehsildar Bijbehara were present.
