KUPWARA, OCTOBER 07: District
Development Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today chaired a meeting to
review progress on model village project under Border Area Development
Programme (BADP).
The meeting took detailed stock of action plan action plan for carrying
out the developmental activities in approved Cluster Model Villages under BADP
2017-18 in Machil, Sarkuli, Diver- Andarbugh and Challgund of Lolab
constituency in the district.
It was said that an amount of Rs 63.60 crore have been proposed under
the action plan under which the villages would be developed on modern lines
replete with all the basic facilities.
The DDC directed the executing agencies to start work on the cluster
model village projects in accordance with the set action plan for providing
tangible infrastructure besides creating income generating units. He urged them
to ensure the quality of works and judicious use of funds. He also stressed on
involving the public representatives, senior citizens and local skilled youth
for carrying out the development works.
The officers and engineers of Rural Development, PRI, Horticulture,
Agriculture, Health, Education, R&B, PHE, PDD, REW, Forest, Soil
Conservation, YSS, and BDOs attended the meeting. They discussed various
developmental activities to be carried out in the model villages by these
agencies and presented their works action plan for release of funds.
The meeting also discussed convergence plan for the developmental
activities within the Cluster Model Villages under approved plan of action
submitted by the concerned implementing and executing agencies associated with
the developmental activities.
