UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 24:- District
Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar, today convened a meeting with the
officers of Agriculture and Horticulture Department to review the physical and
financial achievements made under various centrally sponsored schemes being
implemented in the district.
During the meeting, the Chief Agriculture Officer and Chief Horticulture
Officer gave a detailed Power Point Presentation on CSS schemes of agriculture
and horticulture sector viz RKVY, ATMA, MIDH, SMAM, PMKSY, PMFBY, NMSA, SVP,
NFSM, NMOOP, and PMDP, ATMA, MIDH, PMKSY etc respectively.
While speaking on the occasion, DDC laid stress on enhancing the
production of mushroom, honey, saffron by encouraging the farming community for
cultivation of these crops. He directed CAO to increase the KCC coverage in the
district besides ensuring issuance of soil health cards, promotion of organic
farming, rain water harvesting, reduction in use of pesticides, insecticides,
joint awareness camps and enhancement in enrolment of farmers under PMFBY.
He stressed for use of HYV seeds to enhance production of different
crops in the district. He also laid emphasis on development of model villages
for their specific cultivation viz honey, mushroom, apple, walnut, saffron
village and desired that production and productivity be improved in fruit crops
besides up-gradation of nursery in private sector and vermi compost units and
establishment of new gardens, creation of water sources, horticulture
mechanization, protected cultivation etc.
Among others, Chief Planning Officer, Ashok Khajuria, Chief Horticulture
Officer Brij Vallabh Gupta, Chief Agriculture Officer, Naresh Dubey, AD Planning Darshan
Kumar besides other officers and staff members of concerned department were
present in the meeting.
