Delhi, Oct 12: The screens of Voter Verified Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs)
will be used for the first time in all 7521 polling stations in Himachal
Pradesh. Speaking about advantages of VVPATs, Chief Election Commissioner AK
Joti said, “The voters can see the candidates he has voted and this time the
screen of machine will have size of 10 cm X 5.6 cm.” The height of the voting
compartments will be increased to 30 inches from 24 inches for secrecy
purposes, he added. The commission has fixed a maximum limit of election
expenses at Rs 28 lakh and also directed all the political parties to submit
all the expenses incurred during the elections within 30 days of completion of
