Huge heroin haul in Kerala; UP native among 5 held

Mananthawadi, Kerala, Oct 6: In a major haul, police seized heroin worth Rs 2 crore in the international market and arrested five people from Mananthawadi in Wayanad district of Kerala on Friday. Police acting on a tip-off seized the contraband from a private lodge from the accused, who were checked in on Thursday evening. The arrested included Ajay Singh hailing from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, Ashokan and Balakrishnan of Payyannur in neighbouring Kannur district. The contraband was meant for distribution in Malabar region, they said, adding that the accused had links with inter-state mafia. UNI
