New
Delhi, Oct 25: In what is given out as "fruitful" discussions
between two sides, India and the United States on Wednesday expressed deep
concern on terrorism in Afghanistan and both the countries pressed for adequate
actions against terrorism by Pakistan. Addressing media after hour-long meeting
with the visiting US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson here, Indian External
Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said, "both Secretary of State Tillerson
and I agree that any country providing help to terror elements should be made
accountable". "President Donald Trump's new strategy in Asia cannot
succeed if Pakistan does not take adequate steps against terror," she
said. Almost endorsing her, Mr Tillerson said both India and the US are natural
allies and that Washington stands "shoulder to shoulder" with India
against terrorism. He further said, "The terror outfits can also threaten
Pakistan's own stability..... We (America) want to work with Pakistan in a
positive way.....That is in Pakistan's own interest also." UNI
