Inter Zone athletic meet concludes at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 04: The District Level Inter Zone cum Inter School Athletic meet for Girls Under 14, 17 and 19 age group organized by the Department of Youth services and Sports concluded here today at Sports Stadium Udhampur.

Zonal Physical Education Officer Chenani, Usha Bhatt was the chief guest, while Zonal Physical Education Ram Lal Badyal & ZPEO Panchari Pawan Kumar Sharma preside over the programme.

About 110 girls drawn from 9 Zones and 04 educational institutions of the district participated in the athletic meet.

Sonali Sharma of Majalta bagged first position in  100 m race in the U/14 category, Mamta Devi of Majalta Zone in U/17 Category and Pooja Devi of GHSS Barola   in U/19 category. 

Similarly, Arti Devi  of zone Majalta won 200 m race    in U/14 age group Sharda Dev of Zone Jib of Majalta in U/17 and  Priya Rajput of GHSS Girls Udhampur in U/19 category.

In 400 m,  Esha Devi emerged winner in U/14 category  Priya Sharma of Zone Majalta in U/17 and  Shoba Devi of GHSS Ghordi in U/19 category.

Rimpi Devi of Zone Jib won 600 m title in U/14 category, Vandana Devi   in U/17 yrs category and Razi of GHSS Krimchi in U/19 category, while Ashu Rani of Zone Babey won 800 m event.

In  Long Jump Neetu Devi of Zone Majalta bagged 1st position in under 14 age group , Arti of zone Udhampur in U/17 category and  Ashu Devi of GHSS Khoon in U/ 19 category.  In High Jump competition,  Omti Devi of zone Udhampur won U/14 event Sonali of Tikri U/17 event and Veena  of GHSS Udhampur in U/ 19.

In Discuss, Archana of Tikri, Neha of Zone Babey and Raksha Katoch of GHSS Udhampur emerged winners in U/14, U/17 and U/19 events respectively. Shivali of Babey Zone, Jyotu of Jib and Raksha Katoch of GHSS Udhampur won the Shotput  events  in   `U/14 , U/17 and U/19   categories respectively.

Raj Kumar, Raman Kumar, Raj Kumar Gupta, Sudesh Kumar, Neelam Devi, Vandana Sharma, Pooja , Romesh Chander and Rakesh khajuria acted  as Judges  of Track and field events .

Among others present on the occasion were   Kuldeep Gupta ZPEO Majalta , Ashok Kumar ZPEO Kulwanta, Poonam Sharma, Anita Gupta , Jasvinder Singh, Sanjay Gupta, and Sushma Gupta.
