SAMBA OCTOBER 27: The 70th
martyr day of Brigadier Rajinder Singh MVC (Posthumous) was organized at his
birth place Bagoona, village Rajinderpura by the District Administration here
today.
Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga, President
Dogra Sadar Sabha Gulchain Singh Charak, Ex-MLC Vikramaditya Singh , DC Sheetal
Nanda,SSP Anil Magotra, , Station Director Doordarshan Anjali Sharma, ACD
Sushil Attri , SDM Ravinder Sharma, Maj General (Retd.) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal
(president J&K Ex-Serviceman League) and locals in large number paid
tributes to the ‘Savior of Kashmir’.
Chander Parkash Ganga recalled the bravery and sacrifice of Brigadier
Rajinder Singh in checking the furious advances of Pakistani intruders. He said
that his heroism is an inspiration for the present and future generations and
youth should learn from the valour and bravery of such heroes .
Gulchain Singh Charak, Vikramaditya Singh, Goverdhan Singh Jamwal also
spoke on the occasion and called for including chapter on heroism and
supreme sacrifice of Brig Rajinder Singh in school textbooks.
On the occasion, cultural programmes were presented by the children of
local schools and artists of J&K Cultural and Languages. Patriotic song by
Sargam Sharma, winner of All India Devotional Song Competition and Dogri Song
highlighting the bravery of Brig Rajinder Singh was also presented by ‘Slathia
Brothers’.
The Minister honored local youth who excelled in various fields during
the function.
A plantation drive was also organized by Brig Rajinder Youth Brigade in
memory of Martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the country.
The
programme was anchored by Ravi Kant Sharma, announcer Radio Kashmir Jammu.
