Nepal: NC, Loktantrik Forum to announce merger today

Kathmandu, Oct 16: The merger between Nepali Congress and Bijaya Gachhadar-led Nepal Loktantrik Forum is taking place on Monday as it could not happen on Sunday evening. According to Nepali Congress leader and Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, the merger programme between the NC and Nepal Loktantrik Forum has been put off for 11:30 am on Monday. Loktantrik Forum leader Yogendra Chaudhary said on Sunday that there were issues remaining to be discussed for the unification. “NC has not come forward with full homework for the unification,” Chaudhary told the Kathmandu Post. The party unification was supposed to take place last Monday. However, it was put on hold citing internal management. According to Loktantrik Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar, the unification was postponed as they were yet to conclude seat numbers for his party members. UNI
