Oct 4: Pakistan yet again violated ceasefire agreement and fired
unprovoked on forward posts along the Line of Control in Poonch district of
Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. "Pakistan Army this morning initiated
unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars from
0845 hrs in Poonch sector along the Line of Control (LC)," a defence
spokesman here said. He said that Indian Army is retaliating strongly and
effectively while the firing is still on. An Army jawan was martyred on Tuesday
as Pakistani Army violated the ceasefire agreement in Krishna Ghati sector of
Poonch. On October 2, two children died and 13 civilians sustained injuries in
firing in Poonch. A BSF jawan was also injured in a sniper shot fired from
across the border on the LoC in Poonch. UNI
