Ram Madhav compliments party leaders for victory in Manipur local body polls

New Delhi, Oct 14: Senior BJP leader Ram Madhav on Saturday congratulated party's Manipur unit for recording "great victory" in the local Zila Parishad and other local body polls in the northeastern state. "Congratulations to State President Bhabhananda n CM Biren Singh for great victory in local body polls. 41/60 ZP seats won by BJP members," Mr Madhav said in a tweet. Out of the total 7,16,813 voters 3,48,139 are men and 3, 68,691 women. The polling was held to elect 60 zilla parisads, 161 pradhans and 1513 ward members in six districts. The BJP captured power in Manipur earlier this year ousting Congress government led by Okram Ibobi Singh who served as Chief Minister from 2002. UNI
