Veeri says it will bring transparency, accountability in Revenue Deptt
SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 04: Minister for Revenue, Relief,
Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, Abdul Rehman Veeri today directed the
Divisional Commissioners to setup toll free numbers for the disposal of
grievances and complaints regarding Revenue Department.
The order issued by the office of the Revenue Minister asks Divisional
Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir to setup toll free number in their
respective offices where general public can register their grievances/
complaints pertaining to the Revenue Department.
"You are also requested to nominate one officer/ official (not
below the rank of Naib Tehsildar) to dispose of all the grievances/ complaints
filed the general public received through the Toll free Numbers and submit
weekly status to the department," order reads.
Revenue Minister said that the decision has been taken to bring vibrancy
in the functioning of the department so that common people get their issues
redressed on time.
Veeri further said that the aim of establishing grievance cells besides
redressing revenue related grievances is to bring more efficiency in the
working of the Department.
He also said that it will help in monitoring the progress of officials
to adhere to timelines in issuance of certificates and documents like Reserve
Category Certificate, Dependent Certificate, Income Certificate, Fard Intikhab,
Extract of Girdawari, Extract of Massavi, Extract of Jamabandi, Attestation of
Mutation, Marriage certificate and other related documents.
