BUDGAM, OCTOBER, 28: MLA
Khansahib today said the Government has released Rs. 80 lakh and Rs. 60 lakh
for construction of KGBA hostel complexes at Patvow and Lanilab villages in
Khansahib constituency respectively. The work on both these projects will
commence shortly.
This was
stated at as meeting of officers of education department held here to review
the action plan for construction of new school buildings and up gradation of
various Middle, high and higher secondary schools in Khansahib constituency.
The MLA Khansahib, Hakeem Yaseen chaired the meeting which was,
attended by Director School Education, Kashmir, Director RMSA, Director SSA and
Chief Education Officer, Budgam. The meeting also discussed measures to improve
teaching- learning facilities in various educational institutions in Budgam
particularly in Khansahib constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Hakeem Yaseen expressed his gratitude to the
Education Minister, Syed Altaf Bukhari and concerned education officers for
fulfilling commitments, regarding construction and up gradation of educational
institutions in the area, made during their tour to Khansahib constituency last
month. He asked the education officers to give focused attention for improving
education system in Khansahib, which, he said is educationally backward as
compared to other areas of the valley.
While chairing another meeting to review power supply scenario in
Khansahib constituency, Hakeem Yaseen said that the PDD has released Rs. 25
lakh for acquisition of Land for construction of a modern Grid station at
Khansahib . The Grid station will come up at a cost of Rs. 76 cr. He asked the concerned engineers of PDD to identify
the site for the Grid station immediately so that work is executed on this
ambitious project at the earliest. He said this Grid station on completion
envisages to fulfill about 50 percent power requirements of the Budgam district
comprising Khansahib, Chadoora, Budgam and Charer-i-Shareif.
Hakeem Yasin also urged the
concerned engineers of PDD to immediately complete work on receiving stations
at Arizal and Waterhail so that these are commissioned by the end of November
month as per the commitments.
He said
commissioning of these two Receiving stations will go as long way to overcome
electricity crises in these areas especially during the ensuing winter season.
He asked the PDD engineers to gear up men and machinery to redress the
grievances of the people with respect to availability of electricity.
