Border Security Force this year from the Indo-Bangladesh border and were pushed
back by the frontier force, BSF Director General KK Sharma said on Wednesday.
We are adhering to the country's policy and our
are efforts are to curtail any illegal immigration, the DG said while
addressing the annual press conference here.' We do not arrest them , we push them back', Mr Sharma said while replying ot question on Rohingyas.
He said arresting the immigrants makes the situation more complex as further identifying them becomes a problem due to identical facial and linguistics fatures with the Bangladeshi nationals and the people who live in the bordering areas.
The DG further said that there are 36000 thousands Rohingyas living in the country at several places.
He said that the Border Guards Bangladesh are friendly to us, bu they are not happy when they discover Rohingyas pushed back by us.
However, there has not been any untoward incident between both the neighboring frontier forces.
'At times we push them back and they again send them back through some other part of the border to which we do the same thing again,' he added. 'We are also identifying other routes with inputs from our sister agencies like IB , R&AW and accordingly deploy our troops to keep a check on the infiltration,' he said. UNI
