New Delhi, Nov 29: The Border Security Force (BSF) will soon install smart fence on the international borders, said Director General of BSF, KK Sharma, here on Wednesday.
Smart fencing is done with the help of multiple censors installed near boundary and they are integrated in control room to get image or information of intrusion.
Addressing a press conference, the DG said a Comprehensive Integrated Border Managemen (CIBM) or smart fence is to be installed at Dhubari, Assam in the riverine area. “This project is going to be completed by October 2018 and will be done by our own resources”, said Sharma. “We are good in research and technology,” he added.
The BSF has also started a pilot project for smart fencing in Jammu region along with Pakistan border. This has been done for a stretch of five kilometers and being done by a consortium of few companies and likely to be completed by March 2018, said DG. After evaluation of the pilot project, smart fencing may extended to other vulnerable areas. UNI
