Delhi, Nov 29: Continuing his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday questioned him on his promise
of providing 50 lakh houses to the people of Gujarat.
Posing his first question to Mr Modi in the run up to Gujarat
Assembly election, Mr Gandhi, pointing to his promise in 2012 elections to
provide 50 lakh houses to the people of Gujarat, said only 4.72 lakh houses had
been provided in the last five years. He wondered whether it would take another 45 years to fulfill this promise.
'Gujarat wants a reply on the work done in the last 22 years. My first question to the Prime Minister is on the state of affairs in Gujarat. You promised in 2012 that you would provide 50 lakh new houses but only 4.72 lakh houses were built in five years. Will you tell us whether it will take another 45 years to fulfill this promise,' Rahul said in the tweet.
Congress sources said this is the first in a series of questions to be raised to Prime Minister Modi by Rahul in the run up to the assembly elections in Gujarat. UNI
