5-day Hockey Tournament inaugurated at Hakku Stadium

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 21- President Hockey JK, Kanta Andotra today inaugurated 5-day 3^rd Shaheed Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Hockey Tournament-2017 at K K Hakku Astro Turf Stadium.

The 5-day tournament being organised by Kashmir Sikh Sangat in which Khalsa Club (GoleGujra), Vijaypur Club, AKS Club (Digiana), Bhargave Club, MRS Club (Simble Camp), Young Star (Simble Camp, MBS Club (Simble Camp), Young Khalsa (Gole Gujral), Sittu Club (Simble Camp), Deshmesh Club (Nanak Nagar), Ajit Club (Gole Gujral) and Hiranagar Club (Kathua) are participating.

Speaking on the occasion, KantaAndotra said that sports activities under ‘Khelo India’ a Central Government scheme across the State are being promoted regularly and Hockey JK would provide every possible help in the form of facilities to the Hockey players. She said Hockey JK is making all out efforts to create interest among youth in sports for their overall personality development.

She further said that Hockey JK from with the guidance and support from the Union Sports Ministry will revive the game in J&K.

Representatives of Hockey JK besides sports lovers in large number were present to witness the first match of the tournament.

On the first day of the tournament, MRS Club (Simble Camp), Young Khalsa (GoleGujral) and Sittu Club (Simble Camp) played their first match.
