JAMMU, NOVEMBER
13: Minister of Industries & Commerce Chandra Prakash Ganga today chaired a
one day seminar on Ease of Doing Business organized by I&C Department at
Udhyog Bhavan.
The Minister inclined
for coordinated approach to lay out the desired design for the ease of doing
business in the state. “Government is working hard to improve business climate
and state’s ranking on Ease of Doing Business”, he asserted.
The Minister exhorted
the need for effective operational strategies to create enhanced opportunities
of employability in the state.
The Minister informed
about the efforts being made by the department to further streamline industrial
sector under ‘ease of doing business' which include strengthening of single
window system, policies for product diversification and business expansion and
continuous engagement with stakeholders for better policy formulation.
Commissioner
Secretary I&C, Shailendra Kumar, informed that the department in
collaboration with concerned departments including, Labour, Finance, Fire
Services, Pollution Control Board and PDD has implemented 260 reforms out of a
total of 372 and the remaining will be achieved as soon as possible.
The Minister said
that Jammu and Kashmir would soon be listed in the top 15 states in the list of
ease of doing business in the country.
Ganga congratulated
all the concerned departments for their outstanding contribution and
performance in achieving the set targets. He stated that government is
committed to provide better job opportunities, facilities for skill development
and safe working environment to the established and new entrepreneurs. He
assured complete support to the officers of the concerned departments and other
stakeholders for performing even better in their respective fields.
Among others senior functionaries of concerned departments
attended the seminar.
