Takes comprehensive review of various
departments in the hospital
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 15: Speaker J&K
Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today inspected the
ongoing works for construction of additional block at Rajiv Gandhi Leprosy
Hospital, Gangyal, being undertaken at an estimated cost of Rs 17 crore. He
also took stock of the facilities being provided to patients in the institute.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta said
that efforts are being made to supplement the existing infrastructure at this
hospital, with a vision to upgrade it to a District Hospital in coming years.
He said that the hospital has been provided with additional patient care as
well as diagnostic facilities to upgrade the medicare reach of the institution.
The Speaker informed that
the construction works are expected to completed by March next year
and directed the executing agency to ensure its
time-bound completion.
He further said that this hospital caters
to a large population, with a sizable population from semi urban,
rural areas and with upgradation of this hospital, it will provide people with
easy accessibility to good health care.
The Speaker also reviewed
the functioning of the hospital, besides taking a comprehensive review of
various departments in the hospital.
