Police recovers abducted girl, arrests kidnapper from Jammu

Srinagar, Nov 20: Police on Monday recovered a girl, who was allegedly abducted from Awantipora in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, within 12 hours and arrested the kidnapper from Jammu.
      A police spokesperson here this evening said that a person (name withheld) resident of Khrew reported in Police Post Khrew that his 15-year-old sister (name withheld) had been kidnapped by some unknown person. 
      A case was registered and investigation was taken up, he said. 
      He said during investigation it transpired that the girl was kidnapped by one Pikul alias Raju, a resident of Ajagarpara Murshidabad in West Bengal.  
      “It was also learnt that the accused person had left for his native place alongwith the abducted girl,” he said.
      He said accordingly a team was deputed to Jammu and the accused was arrested from Jammu bus stand. “The girl was also recovered and handed over to her parents,” he added. UNI
