Srinagar, Nov 20: Curfew-like restrictions imposed for the past two days as a precautionary measure were lifted from downtown and Shehar-e-Khas (SeK) besides parts of the civil lines in Srinagar on Monday.
      Police said there were no restrictions in any part of the city on Monday.
      The main gates of historic Jamia Masjid, stronghold of moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) chairman Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq, which also remained closed for the past two days were open on today.
      Restrictions under Section 144 CrPC were imposed since Saturday morning in the areas under the jurisdiction of police Parimpora, Khanyar, Nowhatta, Safakadal, M R Gunj and Rainawari in the downtown and SeK in Srinagar.
      Similarly, partial restrictions were imposed in Maisuma in the civil lines and Kralkhud in the old city as a precautionary measure.
      Shops and business establishments reopened this morning and people were out doing their normal business in SeK and downtown. Traffic was also plying on all routes as security forces and police had removed all road blocks and barbed wire. 
      Restrictions were imposed on Saturday to prevent any demonstration following the death of a militant in Zakoora area in the city outskirts on Friday evening. However, yesterday there was a strike called by separatists against the Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) and killing of militants in the valley. UNI
